## How Products Work

Products in the dashboard have two levels:

### 1. Base Products

These are the standard Stampix product types (Photo Prints, Calendar, etc.). They define:

* Physical specifications (size, paper type)
* Production requirements
* Available design templates (artwork)

### 2. Product Configurations

These are your organization-specific settings for a base product. They define:

* Internal name (for your team)
* Customer-facing name and description
* Preview images
* Which artwork options are available

## Setting Up Products

### Step 1: Add Products to Campaign

1. Open your campaign
2. Find the **Products** section
3. Click **Add products**
4. Select the base products you want to offer

### Step 2: Configure Each Product

For each product, provide:

| Field                    | Description                      | Who sees it    |
| ------------------------ | -------------------------------- | -------------- |
| **Internal Name** | Your reference name | Dashboard only |
| **Internal Description** | Notes for your team | Dashboard only |
| **Name** | Product title shown to customers | Customers |
| **Description** | Product details for customers | Customers |
| **Caption** | Short text under each photo slot | Customers |
| **Overview Image** | Product preview image | Customers |

### Step 3: Select Artwork

Each product needs at least one artwork (design template):

1. In the product section, select available artwork
2. Artwork defines how customer photos are arranged
3. Multiple artwork options let customers choose their preferred design

::: warning
Products without artwork cannot be activated. Make sure to select at least one artwork option.
:::

## Artwork

**Artwork** refers to the design templates that determine how photos are arranged on products.

### What Artwork Includes

* Photo placement and layout
* Background designs and colors
* Decorative elements
* Product-specific formatting

### Managing Artwork

Artwork is synchronized from the Stampix fulfillment system:

1. Go to **Set up → Artwork**
2. Click **Synchronize** to fetch latest artwork from fulfillment
3. Configure translated names for each variant

### Artwork Fields

| Field             | Description                               |
| ----------------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| **Internal Name** | Your reference (dashboard only) |
| **External Name** | What customers see |
| **Variants** | Different design options for this artwork |

## Product Display

### How Customers See Products

When customers visit your webapp, they see:

1. **Product Selection** — Choose which product to order
2. **Artwork Selection** — Pick a design template (if multiple available)
3. **Photo Upload** — Add their photos to the chosen layout
4. **Preview** — Review before ordering

### Customizing the Experience

You control what customers see through:

* **Product Name**: The title displayed
* **Product Description**: Details below the title
* **Overview Image**: Visual preview of the product
* **Caption**: Text shown under photo slots during upload

::: tip
Use clear, benefit-focused descriptions. Instead of "A3 Calendar", try "Large Wall Calendar — 12 months of your favorite memories"
:::

## Multi-Language Support

Product information can be translated for each language your webapp supports:

1. Open the product configuration
2. Use the language picker to switch languages
3. Enter translated Name, Description, and Caption
4. Save — customers see text in their selected language

## Product Status

Products appear in campaigns when:

* ✅ At least one artwork is selected
* ✅ The campaign is active
* ✅ The webapp is active

If any condition is missing, the product won't be available to customers.
